The National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR) supports the VoltiGo project
The system’s innovative design and its key functionalities make it a highly relevant solution for the ongoing technological and energy transition. It is precisely this development potential that enabled the project to receive support from the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR).
The VoltiGo project has been co‑funded under the call ‘SMART Path – Phased Projects’ organized by the National Centre for Research and Development (NCBR), financed through the European Funds for a Modern Economy 2021–2027 (FENG) programme.
The VoltiGo system is designed to provide monitoring and management services for industrial-scale electrical energy storage systems, operating either as standalone units or as part of an integrated network.
The system consists of two main components:
- Hardware layer, integrated directly with the energy storage unit at its physical location.
- Software layer, deployed—depending on operational requirements—either within the IT infrastructure of the storage owner/operator or as an independent cloud‑based service delivered in a SaaS (Software as a Service) model.
Project Description:
With the growing importance of energy storage systems, it is becoming possible to accumulate surplus energy generated during periods of favorable weather conditions and later use it when demand exceeds production. To ensure that energy storage systems operate efficiently, it is essential to develop a monitoring solution that, on one hand, provides insight into the technical condition of the assets, and on the other—through the use of advanced algorithms—enables the optimal utilization of the stored energy.
The VoltiGo system will ultimately be adapted to the needs of both power system operators and individual clients, addressing the current demands of the energy market.
